Kelowna, BC — MadFox Theatre has officially announced its upcoming season, following a wildly successful and sold-out launch at their marquee event, Musical Mayhem. The evening brought together Kelowna’s best on-stage talent for an evening of edgy and gut-busting humour.

At Musical Mayhem, MadFox revealed the two productions that will make up its returning season: How I Learned to Drive by award winning playwright Paula Vogel, and Pomona by acclaimed British writer Alistair McDowall. The company also announced casting for each production made up of some of Kelowna’s most respected and exciting talent.

How I Learned to Drive is a wildly funny, surprising and devastating tale of survival as seen through the lens of a troubling relationship between a young girl and an older man. The work is celebrated for its emotional honesty and sharp wit, and remains one of the most important contemporary plays of the past three decades. How I Learned to Drive won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1998.

In stark contrast, Pomona plunges audiences into a shadowy, industrial underworld where nothing is as it seems. A gripping psychological thriller, the play follows a search for a missing person that spirals into a disturbing maze of conspiracy and violence. Though a notably lesser known work, Pomona was ranked number 3 in The Guardian’s Top 10 Theatre Productions of 2014.

At MadFox our motto is ‘Unpredictable and Unforgettable Live Theatre’, says Artistic Director Pete MacLeod. We’re incredibly excited to continue this tradition in our second chapter and bring these boundary-pushing stories to Kelowna with the very best talent our city has to offer.”

With a limited number of passes and seating available, MadFox encourages audiences to act quickly, as the company’s intimate performances consistently sell-out.
