Over the past week, How I Learned to Drive has been met with something every theatre company hopes for—full houses, honest reactions, and a community that showed up.

Most performances sold out, but more importantly conversations were had: in the lobby, on the car rides home, and in private messages to our team.

Read some of the online reactions below.

“Mind blown. Hands down one of the best plays I’ve ever seen.”
“The best acting I’ve seen from each actor. Easily.”
“I think each individual actor gave the best performance we’ve seen from them in Kelowna to-date.”
“Absolutely breathtaking.”
“Sophie [Jederman]’s lighting design was absolutely perfect.”
“The most uncomfortable I’ve ever been watching a theatre show, the way the show was intended.”

“MadFox has once again set the bar very high."
“[How I Learned to Drive] is proof that the Kelowna theatre scene needs MadFox Theatre.”

The last one is not something we take lightly.

More than anything, this run has been a reminder that there’s an in Kelowna that wants challenging, thoughtful, well-crafted work. People are hungry and want to feel something real when they come to the theatre.

So, thank you.

Thank you to everyone who came out. Thank you for trusting the work. And thank you for being part of a community that’s clearly hungry for more.

We'll see you in June for Pomona by Alistair McDowall.
